Sophie Rae studied Illustration at The Arts University College Bournemouth. As an Illustrator she finds inspiration in music, nature, and experiences that stimulate her imagination. She develops this through the process of printmaking. Overlaying subtle line on layers of beautiful coloured ink, through stencils, relief and monoprinting.
Her creative methods start with initial sketches and energetic visual ideas. By then blending colours in the printmaking studio the process inspires and helps develop images ensuring the results are innovative, intriguing and often bizarre.
Sophie also forms one twelfth of the Paper Jukebox collective: A group of Illustrators with an emphasis on printmaking, drawing, and the handmade. Working great as a team the collective combine tools and create distinctive and unique visual eye candy.
